About the Program

The Golden Scholarship Program provides two $1,500 scholarships and honors Emma Gordon and Lucille Golden beloved teachers at Wharton Training High School. The Velma Lee Anderson Memorial Scholarship provides $1,000.

The Golden Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding academic accomplishment along with student participation in extra-curricular activities. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be accepted as full-time students in undergraduate study at an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic year.

All phases of the scholarship competition, including the selection of winners, are handled by Just Do It Now and a representative of the Golden Scholarship Program. Scholarship finalists are selected from candidates on the basis of timely application that demonstrates the applicant's community service involvement, academic performance, extracurricular activities, and essay on the specified topic.
